Death by Chocolate
My favorite weekend on Chincoteague Island is the Death by Chocolate weekend. I enjoy visiting many of your businesses, chatting and eating chocolate. Did you know the Maya civilization used chocolate as money? Cacao was far more prized than crops like maize because cacao trees are susceptible to crop failure. Maya kings collected cacao and woven cloth as a tax. Somehow the kings ended up surplus (this would NEVER happen in my office) and they paid palace workers or used the surplus to purchase items at the marketplace. How are you managing your money?
